With more than 15 years of industry experience, Michael brings a wealth of expertise to the team and has played a huge role in driving Interocean’s growth since he joined the company three years ago.

- Can you share some insight into your role as Business Development Manager at Interocean?
As Business Development Manager, my priority is to build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
It is critical that I have an awareness of current market trends to formulate the strategies required to stay ahead in the industry. Therefore, a big part of my role involves conducting market research to identify trends, opportunities and competitive landscape.
Working in Interocean’s business development team provides the opportunity to work closely with other departments such as operations and commercial to ensure alignment and support for business initiatives.
- As you look to grow Interocean as a business, what are your short- and long-term goals for the company?
My short-term goal is to increase visibility. This is the immediate focus, which is aligned with our long-term objectives to ensure coherent progress toward Interocean’s overarching vision of being the leading provider of renewable and maritime services across the globe.
- You have over 15 years’ experience working in various companies across the industry. Can you tell us what appealed to you about working at interocean?
With over 15 years of experience in the industry, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a variety of companies, each offering unique challenges and learning experiences. What particularly appealed to me about Interocean is its commitment to innovation and sustainability. The company’s forward-thinking approach and dedication to creating environmentally friendly solutions align perfectly with my professional values and aspirations.
- You have attended a lot of industry events this year. Has there been a particular highlight for you?
A highlight to date is Global Offshore Wind 2024. The event was a major gathering for the offshore industry, featuring industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers. We took the opportunity to showcase our latest advancements in offshore wind technology, focusing on sustainable development and digitalisation.
- What is a piece of advice you would give to someone starting their career in the industry?
The offshore industry is constantly evolving with new technologies and regulations, being open to learning and staying updated with the latest advancements will give you a significant edge. Whether it’s through formal education, certifications, or simply staying informed about industry trends, continuous learning is the key.
