Meet Eilidh, one of our Marine Superintendents!
Since beginning her career as a Deck Cadet, Eilidh has amassed a vast amount of experience across the marine industry making her a huge asset to the Interocean team. Whether she’s doing offshore vessel audits or working on procedures at our Glasgow headquarters, no two days are the same for Eilidh.

- Can you tell us more about your role as Marine Superintendent? What does a typical day look like for you?
- No two days are the same! My time is split between the office where I work on procedures, reviewing documents, or desktop vetting requests for clients, and traveling to vessels to carry out sailing audits, client surveys, and reviews.

- You joined Interocean in May 2024, can you tell us about your career history up until this point?
- I started my deck cadetship at 18 with Maersk on their deep-sea container fleet. I then did some time on Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) operating in the North Sea before joining the Northen Lighthouse Board. I came ashore in 2015 and started working as a Marine Consultant. I also currently serve as a non-executive director on the board and Montrose Port Authority.
- In your opinion, what makes Interocean stand out in the maritime industry?
- Interocean has a great team with a diverse skillset who are able to provide all-in-one solutions to complex projects. Our collective expertise can be applied to all sectors of the maritime industry.
- How do you continue to develop your skills and knowledge at Interocean?
- Continuous Professional Development is essential in this industry as vessel technology is constantly evolving. Regularly revalidating my qualifications, attending industry events and conferences, attending courses, and gaining new accreditations helps develop my skills, ensuring I stay at the forefront of the industry.
- Having been in this industry for over 20 years, what has been the best piece of advice you have received in your career?
- If you are thinking about calling the Captain, you should have probably called them five minutes ago! Basically, it means that if you need help, don’t wait to ask.
